About

This site is about my hobby of woodturning in my retirement. I started working with wood when I was eleven and attended woodwork classes for two days a week. The woodwork school had no machinery and all wood had to be prepared from large planks with bark still on. I learnt to saw and plane the hard way. At sixteen I attended a Technical College for engineering, spending a lot of time with day release students in a full on workshop. In my late teens I achieved a place at a College of Education for crafts. Fifty years on, I found an interest in woodturning and joined two clubs where I was inspired by professional woodturner demonstrations. I continually strive to improve my skills as a woodturner and try to be inovative in the pieces I produce.
